Quality and inspection
Every job is inspected to suit what it needs: first-off and in-process checks as standard, and full inspection where the drawing or the application calls for it. It happens here, in the same building the parts are machined in.
How we measure
- CMM dimensional inspection to ISO 2768-f / IT6.
- Mitutoyo and Starrett calibrated gauging.
- First-off checks before a batch runs, and in-process checks while it runs.
Tolerances
±0.010 mm is our ISO 2768-f standard for most materials. Tighter tolerances on critical features can be agreed at quotation stage for specific geometries. Tolerances on engineering plastics are wider, because of their thermal dimensional instability.
Documentation
Full material traceability is standard. Material Test Reports, Certificates of Conformance and dimensional reports are available on request: tell us what your drawing or purchase order calls for.
Finishing
Anodising, passivation, electropolishing and other treatments are co-ordinated through us and come back here for final inspection. See finishing & inspection.
